Brixham 1904- This detailed map covers most of the busy fishing port of Brixham. Features include the Harbour, New Pier, GWR Brixham Branch with station, town centre with individual buildings neatly shown, Castor Farm, St Mary's church, Parkham Hill, Windmill Hill, Torbay Paint Works, Lindthorpe, Churston Court (at western edge of map), Christ Church, Churston Mill etc. A 1906 directory is included on the reverse. ILFRACOMBE & MINEHEAD 1897 - This One Inch to the Mile map includes two maps, covering the north Devon and Somerset coast, from Ilfracombe eastward to Minehead and Blue Anchor Bay. Sheet 277 covers the north Devon area, where features include the town of Ilfracombe, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, Combe Martin Bay, Foreland Point etc. Sheet 278 continues coverage eastward, including Porlock Bay, Minehead. NORTH DEVON (TAW & TORRIDGE VALLEYS) 1907 - This Inch to the Mile map covers an area of north Devon stretching from Great Torrington eastward to East Worlington, and from George Nympton southward to Winkleigh and Broadwood Kelly. Near the centre of the map is the small town of Chulmleigh, and on the reverse we include an extract from Devon Sheet 42.04 showing the town centre in detail; a directory accompanies it. NORTH DARTMOOR & MID DEVON 1887 - This Inch to the Mile map covers a central area of Devon, encompassing northern Dartmoor and the area around Okehampton. Coverage stretches from Northlew eastward to Colebrooke and Cheriton Cross, and from Hatherleigh southward to Chagford and (at the extreme foot of the map) Moreton Hampstead. Features on the map include Cawsand Hill, Prestonbury Castle; and railways include the LSWR line through Okehampton, the Holsworthy Branch, and the line climbing 1,800 feet to the peat works on Rattlebrook and Amicombe Hill. OTTERY ST MARY & THE EAST DEVON COAST- 1896 - This One Inch to the Mile map includes both sheets 326 and 340. It covers the Devon coast from Otterton eastward to the county boundary and Lyme Regis, and coverage extends inland to Honiton and Chardstock. SOUTH DARTMOOR & THE SOUTH HAMS 1909 - This Inch to the Mile map covers the area east of Plymouth, centred on Ivybridge. Coverage stretches from Cattedown, Egg Buckland and the Staddon Heights eastward to Halwell and Harberton, and from Buckfastleigh southward to Loddiswell. The eastern outskirts of Plymouth are shown at the left margin but, as Tom Greeves says, the eastward expansion of that city....had not yet overwhelmed places such as Plympton, Plymstock and Egg Buckland. The southern part of Dartmoor stretches down onto the map. Railways include the GWR main line which runs across the map, and parts of several branches: the Yealmpton Branch and lines to Launceston, Kingsbridge and Ashburton. On the reverse we include an extract from Devon Sheet 120.09 which covers the small town of South Brent in 1904; this is shown in more detail, and includes a directory. EDDYSTONE, SALCOMBE & BIGBURY BAY 1908 - This Inch to the Mile map will perhaps appeal to those interested in cartographic curiosities as much as to historians. The main map, Sheet 355, covers the coastal area of Devon around Bigbury Bay, Bolt Tail and Holt Head. It includes Salcombe and Kingsbury, and coverage stretches from Ringmore and Bigbury SE to Prawle Point. On the reverse we include most of a very strange OS map, Sheet 354, which covered the Eddystone Rocks and nothing else. BIDEFORD BAY & LUNDY ISLAND 1896 - This Inch to the Mile map is a composite of 4 sheets, 275, 276, 291 and 292. Sheets 275 and 291 cover Lundy Island. Sheets 276 and 292 cover the area around Bideford Bay, with coverage stretching from Morthoe southward to Bideford, and inland to Braunton. On the reverse we include a more detailed map of part of Appledore, including Richmond Dry Dock, The Quay and St Mary's church; coverage then extends eastward across the River Torridge to include part of Instow and Worlington. THE HARTLAND PENINSULA 1894 - This Inch to the Mile map is split between Cornwall and Devon and covers an area from Bude Bay eastward to Peters Marland, and from Clovelly southward to Stratton. Sheet 307, covering the coastal strip, is also included. Features include the towns of Stratton, Bude and Hartland; Clovelly Bay, Bude Bay, a stretch of the LSWR North Devon line. UPPER EXE VALLEY 1907 - This Inch to the Mile map covers an area of NE Devon centred on Tiverton. Coverage stretches from Thelbridge eastward to Uffculme, and from Shillingford and Clayhanger southward to Cullompton. The GWR Exe Valley Branch runs through the map, and there is also the Tiverton Branch. On the reverse we include an extract from Devon Sheet 24.15 and this shows the small town of Bampton in detail, including station, quarries, site of Castle, and includes a directory. HOLSWORTHY & THE UPPER TAMAR 1894 - This Inch to the Mile map is split between Cornwall and Devon and covers an area from Marhamchurch eastward to Highampton, and from Holsworthy southward to Werrington Park. The River Tamar runs through the map and other features include the small town of Holsworthy, the LSWR Launceston and Holsworthy Branches, the old Bude Canal. Coverage stretches from Yeoford and Tedburn St Mary eastward to Whimple, and from Bradninch southward to Exminster. DARTMOOR 1908 - This Inch to the Mile Map covers a broad expanse of Dartmoor. Coverage stretches from Marytavy and Whitchurch eastward to Ashburton, and from Lydford southward to Buckfast Abbey and Sheepstor. Near the centre is the small town of Princetown, with its convict prison and railway. On the reverse we include an extract from Devon Sheet 106.08, of the area immediately around Dartmoor prison in 1904, with a directory of Princetown (sadly it doesn't name the prisoners!) CHUDLEIGH, EXMOUTH & NEWTON ABBOT 1884-88- This Inch to the Mile map covers a popular area of south Devon, with coverage stretching from Bickington and Lustleigh eastward to Budleigh Salterton, and from Christow southward to Barracombe Bay and Torbryan. Several towns are covered: Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Chudleigh. Features include stretches of the Moreton Hampstead Branch and Teign Valley Branch.
