Face to Face Events
Bookings are now open for two of our three Face to Face meetings in 2024. Places are limited so early booking is advised. There will be displays, books stalls and opportunities to chat at all these events. The events are:
South Molton Saturday 23 March 10am-5pm South Molton Guildhall, Broad Street, South Molton – click here to see more information and to book. Alongside the talks, there will be an opportunity to visit South Molton Museum, which is opening early especially for us, or look round the town.
Sampford Courtney Saturday 18 May 10.00am-4.30pm Sampford Courtenay Village Hall Chapple Lane, Sampford Courtenay, EX20 2SX – click here to see more information and to book. Alongside the talks, there will be opportunities to look at displays, chat and explore the church and other parts of the village.
Members’ Area Update
The new Members’ Area is now available alongside the existing pages. Please follow the link on the menu to the Members’ Area and follow the instructions to finish creating your new account. Please do bear with us if there are delays in getting you set up and working on the new site – you can still use the existing site, which contains nearly all of the same information. Monumental Inscription Search
Devon Family History Society has an ongoing project to photograph gravestones, the current database contains over 115,890 names linked to 78.018 photos, this is updated on a regular basis so please revisit from time to time. There is also an additional 96,000 names without photos available to members.

Tree House is the Society’s research centre in Exeter, we can help people to find their ancestors wherever they come from.
THE DEVON FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY
The Devon Family Historian is a quarterly journal with articles full of background information about the lives and times of Devon families and other information helping members to keep themselves well informed about developments in family history.
