7 November 2026 2.30 pm Greenwich Mean Time (Runs for up to 2 1/2 hours)
Do you have an ancestor who refuses to reveal vital facts about their lives? Are they lacking parents, or do they disappear without trace? Maybe you are preparing to write up your family story, or you are trying to work out where to go next. If so, you need a detailed timeline; something much more than might be created by your genealogy software. Well constructed timelines are a valuable summary of an individual’s life and a working document to inform your ongoing research. This session will provide step by step advice on producing just such a working document. By the end of the session attendees will be able to create a powerful research tool.
Producing a timeline for an ancestor or ancestral group can be very helpful when planning research, trying to break down a brick wall, or preparing to write a family history story. This workshop guides attendees through the process. Those attending will need to do some preparatory work first.
Please note that this session will NOT be recorded.
