To commemorate the 475th anniversary of the Prayer Book Rebellion, we are working in conjunction with the Sampford Courtenay Prayer Book Rebellion Commemoration Steering Committee to bring you a Face to Face event in Sampford Courtenay on Saturday 18 May 2024, 10.00-4.30pm.

 Programme:

10.00 Welcome

10.30-11.30 The Sampford Courtenay Timeline – David Botting-Page

11.45- 12.45 Local House Histories – Marion Pratt

1.00-2.45 There will be opportunities to look at displays, chat and explore the church and other parts of the village

3.00- 4.00 Would you have survived in C16th Sampford Courtney – Janet Few with Chris Braund

4.30pm Close

Please bring a packed lunch (tea and coffee will be provided) or pre-book in the pub (The New Inn). Note that there is no shop in the village – the nearest shops are in North Tawton or Okehampton. Refreshments provided.
